Proposition 65 Warning

We believe in transparency, clear information, and giving customers the context they need to make informed decisions.

Catalyst’s Statement

The State of California requires companies to provide warnings about products that may expose consumers to certain chemicals listed under California Proposition 65. Prop 65 does not ban the sale of products containing these substances; it requires warnings so California consumers can make informed decisions.

We are sharing this notice because we believe in transparency and because we want our customers to understand what the warning means — and what it does not mean.

What is this warning?

Proposition 65 is a California right-to-know law. It requires warnings for certain products that may expose California consumers to chemicals the State of California has listed as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

These warnings are common in California and appear on a wide range of consumer products, in restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, parking garages, and other public places.

Should I be worried?

A Prop 65 warning does not mean a product will cause cancer or reproductive harm. It means the product may expose users to one or more substances listed under California law.

California’s warning standards are uniquely broad and can require warnings even when a product is otherwise lawfully sold. We include this notice to remain transparent and compliant with California law.

Why do some similar products not have the same warning?

Some companies may not be required to provide a warning because of their size, distribution, testing, interpretation of exposure, or approach to compliance. A product without a Prop 65 warning is not automatically free from listed substances.

We choose to provide clear information so customers can decide what is right for them.
